Fiscal Fitness and IT initiatives aimed at lowering the cost of the technology needs of the State resulted in the restructuring of the computer hardware Master Price Agreement (MPA345). The result of that process was the PC technology manufacturers offering their largest discount on specific hardware configurations. These hardware configurations are determined by DoIT.
To gain the most value for taxpayer dollars the Division of Information Technology requires all Executive Department PC technology purchases to conform the standard configurations. Requests for technology not conforming to standard configurations requires justification and approval.
To further reduce the cost and complexity of maintaining and securing the computing infrastructure, DoIT will specify authorized vendors for major technology platforms including PC technology.
This policy requires all Executive Department PC technology purchases to conform the standard configurations published below. Configurations deviating from these standards must be submitted using the Non-Standard Configurations Request document.
