Projects: Web Data Sharing

The mission of the RI Data sharing Group is to better and more efficiently serve citizens and businesses in Rhode Island through the evaluation, execution, and education of data sharing technologies.

The group will strive to:

• Evaluate, recommend, document and where appropriate, oversee the development of standards of XML and XML schemas.
• Work in conjunction with state agencies, municipalities and the private sector to aid in the development of data sharing projects.
• Champion the growth, and adoption of data sharing initiatives.
• Recommend and develop standards that ensure the security of data sharing methods.
• Create and maintain a central repository of information pertaining to data sharing.

It is the goal of the Data Share Group that Rhode Island will become a national showcase of how this exciting technology can be utilized to offer citizens, businesses and local government a more efficient, cost effective way to interact with one another to the greater benefit of all.
